The Most EPIC Family Day EVER

I am getting tired just thinking about it!   We really did have a lot of fun though :)

It was Saturday July 6th.  We woke up planning to take the boys to Dinosaur Ridge.  Apparently people travel from all over the world to visit here, and it's been right in our backyard the whole time and we have never gone.  Thus it was time.

We decided to do the "hike" instead of paying to go on the tour bus.  I say "hike" because it was less of a hike and more just an uphill road climb.  Either way, it was nice.  There were 3 pit-stops along the walk, The track site (super freaking cool!), a geology spot, and a bone quarry (also very freaking cool!).  It was about a 1.5 mile walk to the bone quarry, and of course we had to walk back too.  I am very please we decided not to pay to go on the bus for a few reasons.  1) We got our exercise in for the day 2) We were able to just listen in when we were at the sites and the tour guide was talking.  Must better than having to read the signs ourselves.

Daddy was very stylish this day

After our hike we decided to go to Colorado Mills for lunch.  We went to Modmarket and then decided to walk around the outlet mall.  We also happened to have a return, so it saved us a trip to the Castle Rock Outlets.

After lunch we were headed home....so we though.  It was such a nice day out.  Not too hot, nice cloud cover, and a few rain storms throughout the city were keeping the air nice and cool.  We originally had planned to go to the Zoo on Sunday, but decided "Hey, why not just go now".  Zach took a little cat nap on the way.  It was great...so off to the zoo we go - but oh wait just one more minute.

The way we were driving to the zoo, we happened to be driving past our favorite bakery every (that happens to be owned by a friend of ours).  We decided to pop in and say hi and pick up a few cupcakes - YUM!  So after that little pit stop we went over to the zoo.

It started down pouring right as we got there.  Chase was getting hungry, so we told the boys that I was going to feed him and then see if it was still raining after.  Well wouldn't you know - it stopped right as he was done eating!

Normally we go in the mornings/early afternoons.  This was such a nice change of pace to go in the later afternoon.  All the animals were up and either getting fed, or just ate, so they were very active.  We didn't get to see any shows, but just watching the animals actually do something besides just lay there was cool.  There are also a few new babies at the Denver Zoo...I just love babies, any kind ;-)

After our zoo trip we were headed home....or so you think.  We thought we were.  But then Braden decided he wanted sushi for dinner as we were getting close to our "sushi joint", so to sushi we went!

Don't let the face fool you, he really does love sushi - just over all the photos I think

All in all it was a really fun day and all 3 boys did great being out all day.
