All about the Zachy

Since Braden has got an awful lot of blog time lately, it's time to jump in and update everyone on Zachary.

He is doing great!!  Right now he is going to the preschool program that our school district in Texas offers.  He goes 5 days a week for 3 hours a day.  And let me just say, we love it! We are so happy with his therapy team and teachers.  It's just so wonderful to see how happy he is, and how hard he is willing to work.  The communication between us and his teachers/team is great.  I am not an easy person to please, and lets just say I am beyond pleased with everything regarding his schooling and therapy work right now.

It's hard to describe his progress in a simple blog post, but he is just progressing more and more each day.  He comes home singing songs, and talking about his friends, and what he did in school.  His teachers are very attentive to his individual needs and growth in the class room - there are 5 kids in his class, all with varying levels of learning delays, and 2 main teachers (both with masters in special education) and then there is always a therapist (speech, OT, music, motor, etc) in the room at all times.

His teacher also write a blog EVERY WEEK!!! It's amazing.  She posts what their upcoming week is going to look like; what they will be working on in the classrooms, themes, and school events.  As well as posting pictures from the previous week of what they did!  You will have to look at it, and check it every week to see updated pictures and see all the work Zachary is doing!  It really makes us feel like we were there with him all week.

He just finished up his first soccer season yesterday.  He really seemed to enjoy himself, even though he didn't really get the concept.  He just enjoyed being out there with him friends and running around.  He never really liked attacking the ball, he was always just the kid running around chasing the heard of kids who were chasing the ball.  His attention span and focus isn't the best, but he was one of the only kids on the team who you could count on to be out on the field the whole time (other kids would just run off in the middle of the game, he understood that you played until the ref said it was time for a water break).

He celebrated his 4th birthday a few weeks ago, and I never got around to posting his birthday interview, so here's that.

Other that that - he's just been a normal 4 year old.  Enjoying time at home alone with mommy while Chase naps and Braden is at school.  We usually go out to lunch for Taco Tuesday, and that get's him excited.  Here are a few photos and videos of Mongo being Mongo.
